Details Itinerary Photos Tour Overview Helambu Trek is the best destination for one who prefers short trekking in Nepal. Helambu circuit trek lies in Langtang region nearby Kathmandu valley. Though it lies near the capital city, it has not been spoilt relatively. The major attractions of this trek are snow-capped mountains, green rhododendron, majestic waterfalls and bamboo forests. The Helambu trek is one of the most diverse treks. We can experience the great Mountain scenery located at the border with Tibet. People living here follow different culture and tradition while living in the highland of Langtang region Nepali’s people does look like Tibetans. The Helambu trek starts from Sundarijal which is famous for Canyoning. During the trek to Sundarijal, we will be attracted by the natural beauty which includes river and waterfall on our way. After walking for an hour we enter Shivapuri National Park which is the habitat of many endangered species. Then the trek continues to Chisopani, Thadepati, Kutumsang, and Sermathang that ends at Melamchi Pul Bazaar in Helambu Region. During the trek, we pass through thick mountain forests with beautiful sceneries of great Himalaya. We come across to the beautiful rice terraces and many splendid Buddhist monasteries. Day 02: Kathmandu city tour and trek preparationFor sightseeing we guide you to UNESCO world heritage site includes the Pashupatinath temple, Buddhist holy pilgrimage (Buddha and Shyambhu), Kathmandu durbar square, Bhaktapur Durbar square and Patan Durbar square. After took we drop you back to your hotel room through our private vehicle. Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2300m) 4-5 hoursWe take an hour drive to Sundarijal (1350m). Then our trek starts from Sundarijal to Chisapani (2300m). On the way, we visit the small hydroelectric plant and a Shivapuri national park. We then head to Mulkharka which is the inhabitant of Tamang people. Walking through the forest of rhododendron and oaks, we reach to Chisapani which is about 4 to 5 hours of walk from Sundarijal. We stay overnight. Day 04: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2446m) 6-7 hoursWe wake up early and have breakfast then continue our trail to Kutumsang. During the trek, we come across meadows and fields, experience outstanding Langtang Mountain. Then we arrive at Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang from where we climb the ridge to another pass. From the pass, we trek down the hill leading us to Kutumsang. Day 05: Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3650m) 6 hoursFrom Kutumsang, we climb up a steep trail across the forest of fir and rhododendron. There are no any permanent settlements. Continuing the trail to Yurin Danda experiencing beautiful mountain views, we reach to Thadepati. Day 06: Trek from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m) 5-6 hoursFrom Thadepati, we head across the Melamchi Khola leading us to Tarkeghyang where we can find the settlements of Sherpa’s. It offers us beautiful mountains, villages and oldest and biggest monasteries in the region. This village is called Helambu, one of the popular villages of this region. Here most of the inhabitants belong to Helmu caste. Day 07: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2610m) 3-4 hoursWe will have an easy walk today. We come across streams, waterfalls and beautiful forest leading us to Sherpa village of Gangyul. A short walk from Gangyul leads us to Sermathang where we visit a beautiful village and at its highest point lies a Buddhist monastery. Day 08: Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Bazar 3-4 hours and drive to Kathmandu 2.5 hoursFrom Sermathang, we walk down to Malemchi Pul Bazaar which is the inhabitant of Sherpa but many other ethnic people live here. From Bazaar we take a bus to Kathmandu which takes about 2.5 hours. Day 09: Final dayThis is your last day in Kathmandu so you can enjoy your meal, go shopping before the flight. Our representative with driver will take you to the airport for departure.
