Details Itinerary Photos Tour Overview Chisapani and Nagarkot Hiking is one of the best hiking destination in Kathmandu. Chisapani and Nagarkot Hiking is a 3-days unique hiking near Kathmandu valley, which offers a landscape of the Shivapuri National Park. Drive about 40 minutes to Sundarijal and walk through dense forests of oak, pine, and Rhododendron. It is a really beautiful forest with the vegetation everywhere and watching the sounds/voice of lovely birds. The first day of hiking to Chisapani is about 5 hours. The meaning of “Chisapani” in our local language is cold water, which offers an awesome view of Langtang, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu etc with the beautiful sun shining in the early morning. Nagarkot is the second destination of hiking for 7 hours through roadway and small forest Nagarkot also known as honeymoon place, which also offers the spectacular view of Himalaya with a beautiful sunrise and sunset view. Hiking to Changunarayan temple is approximately 4 hours from Nagarkot, which is the oldest temple in Nepal. It is listed in world heritage site, the UNESCO's property. The Changu Narayan temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his incarnation as Narayan, which is a double-roofed temple. All the four doors of the temple are stone lions guard. Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu (40 minutes) and hike to Chisapani (5 hours)Our guide will receive you from the Hotel then we head off towards Sundarijal where our journey begins. About 40 minutes drive towards the northeast of the town we will reach Sundarijal. The trek continues following the stone steps towards the military check post. The path passes through a couple of tea outlets, tiny settlements of individuals, and therefore the cascading waterfalls and enters the sub-tropical forest. Completing the formality at the check post (taken care by the team leader), we enter the Shivapuri and Nagarjuna park and head towards Mulkharka following stone paved steps, once crossing the bridge/dam, across the stream. We tend to pay it slow at Mulkharka and walk through the forest of shrub; we ascend to the highest of the ridge at Deurali where we are able to see a good looking view of snow coated high peaks. Day 2: Hike from Chisapni to Nagarkot (7 hours)Today we wake early in the morning to fancy the sunrise view from Chisapani. We cross the pass and hike all the way down to the Kattike Village, wherever you'll see a cluster of homes and a number of retailers. The tip of the village provides us the access to the most roads. Nagarkot, one among the celebrated hill stations within the Kathmandu valley is simply three Kms up the start line of the most road. Day 3: Hike from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan (4 hours) and back to KathmanduToday we wake up earlier than usual to fancy the sunrise view from Nagarkot. We hike up to the viewpoint, fancy the rising sun then retreat to the hotel for breakfast. Shortly after breakfast, we hike all the way down to the temple of Changu Narayan that is century’s recent temple within the Kathmandu valley. The temple is located at the top of the long ridge that runs into the valley. Therefore, we walk all the means down, on the ridge, through the cultivated lands and reserved forest of Bageshwori and Tilkot. We explore the temple area; fancy the sculpture and carving then drive to Bhaktapur durbar sq. area. We pay few hours exploring the area and repel to your hotel in Kathmandu.
